“Creepy and chilling tales told by some of the region’s best storytellers…a great mix of classic legends, new stories and whispered folktales…spooky, eerie and fantastical” POST STAR

It's Halloween, the night when ghosts and spirits roam the Earth.

Halloween's origins date back more than 2,000 years. On what we consider November 1, Europe's Celtic peoples celebrated their New Year's Day, called Samhain (SAH-win).

On Samhain eve—what we know as Halloween—spirits were said to walk the Earth as they traveled to the afterlife. Fairies, demons, and other creatures were abroad, intermingling with humans just this one night of the year.

For hundreds of years storytellers have taken us by the hand and led us into old houses filled with apparitions: phantoms woven from memories and dreams, exploring the dark core of our humanity.

These tales reflect our souls, where characters cross the line between life and death, caught in situations that often draw out their deepest emotions. The supernatural explore the natural: frailty and strength, loss and recovery. Behold the nurturing power of imagination!
